Mr Thompson Vong Seng-pan
Vong is a young performer of male roles who was born and raised in Macau. He started learning Cantonese opera at the Youth Cantonese Opera Training Centre of the União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau at the age of nine. He took on the role to be the main male actor to stage the traditional repertoires Zhou Yu and The Double Speared Luk Man-lung at the Macau Arts Festival. Vong then performed The Double Speared Luk Man-lung in Guangzhou with guidance and appreciation from a renowned Cantonese Opera artist Hung Sin-nui. After graduation, he was recommended by Master Lung Koon-tin and become a male role actor in the “Cantonese Opera Young Talent Showcase” at the Yau Ma Tei Theatre organized by the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong (CAAHK). Vong is now a full-time actor in the industry. He was coached by Guan Shi-zhen, Tsai Chi-wei, Wong Sing-kwan and Yeung Lai-hung. He has taken part in the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Chinese Opera Festival, performances organized by CAAHK, and various tropes in the field.
